Röntgen - funktionell - schnell verfügbar - weniger Strahlung

What is a cone beam CT?

In principle, this is a modern X-ray device, which combines the low radiation of conventional X-ray images with the 3 representation and layer image representation of a computer tomogram.

This procedure helps the foot and ankle specialist in particular with diagnostics and therapy planning.

Leading doctors and scientists in the field of foot and ankle surgery are increasingly relying on the advantages of this imaging.

The Lucerne Foot Center is the first institution in Switzerland to offer this type of diagnostics (curve beam line up).

What are the advantages?

quickly available procedure and easy reproducible position

significantly lower radiation dose than a computer tomogram of the same region

standing and thus functional recording . Problems that only occur under load are thus visible for the first time in the slice image. This is not the case in the CT computer tomogram and in the MRI magnetic resonance tomogram, since these are done lying down.

standardized recordings enable computer-aided measurement and comparison with other recordings (important for research and science)

pleasant admission process for the patient. No forced positions have to be taken up and held longer. The recording time is well under a minute. You can support yourself in the stand, if necessary also sit down (e.g. after fractures and after operations).
